Morning Rituals with Tenzo

We feel very lucky to call the trio behind Tenzo our friends. Before meeting Jeff, Jaimie and Saehee, we were fans. We devoured the delicious food they made at Echo Park Craft Fair, and admired their aesthetic and brand from afar. Behind it all we found three sincerely nice, humble, and authentic people. They embody all the qualities of people/entrepreneurs that keep us inspired with our company. During our transition from the Westside of LA to the Eastside, Tenzo welcomed us to the community by inviting us over for dinner. Just as we love to spread the warmth of morning coffee and ritual to our friends and family, so it is with Tenzo with [delicious] food and conversation. It was such a relaxed, beautiful night. And...

Morning Rituals with Kenzie + Isa of Yo También

We met Kenzie and Isa at Echo Park Craft Fair in May. Actually, first we ate their arepa's, and they were so delicious we had to find out who made them. So we walked from our coffee booth down to the stand they were sharing with our friends, Leaves and Flowers, and had our first encounter with Yo También. Kenzie and Isa were calmly, almost nonchalantly, whipping up their arepa's. It was clear they really find their zen through cooking, and take joy in sharing it with other people.  This summer, Kenzie & Isa have been living and working at Full Belly Farm in the Capay Valley of Northern California. We reached out to them to share a bit of what life's like at the farm, and get...

Morning Rituals with Emily and Fred L'Ami

Emily and Fred are two of our favorite people. We met them at a birthday party at our friends Brian and Jessie's house early in 2016. We hit it off, and made dinner plans for a few weeks later.   Within that time, we decided to start a coffee company and even had a name for it: Canyon! Over dinner, Fred and Emily were surprised to learn about our vision for our company. We were then surprised, in turn, to learn that they had their own incense company (Bodha) and Fred is a designer!   And just like that, our new friendship blossomed into a creative collaboration. Fred and Emily both played a huge role in helping shape Canyon (Fred designed the Canyon logo...

Kacie Carter | Honey Hi

Kacie Carter is one of the founders and owners of Honey Hi, one of LA's newest and most-talked about restaurants! We met Kacie in December at Echo Park Craft Fair, where our booths were set up across from each other. We found that she not only makes incredibly tasty, healthy food—she's also a super friendly, down-to-earth and generally an all-around awesome person! We were really excited when Honey Hi decided to carry Canyon on their shelves, because it meant we'd get to spend more time with Kacie (...while eating their delicious bowls and cookies). Food and awesomeness aside, we also relate with and admire Kacie as a fellow entrepreneur. Like her, we are in our late 20's and started our business in October. We...
