Time Lapse of Canyon Coffee at Echo Park Craft Fair from Canyon Coffee on Vimeo. On December 11 & 12, 2016, we teamed up with June of Welcome Coffee Cart to provide coffee for the Echo Park Craft Fair. We've been going to EPCF for years, and are big fans. We're always so inspired by the creativity and passion of all the vendors, and think it's one of the best curated fairs of its kind. So, we were very honored to be able to join as a vendor this year! Thank you to Beatriz and Rachel for having us! We're excited to continue being a part of EPCF in the future.
Pop-up Market with Jungmaven, EMK Ceramics, Isa Isa and H.O.W.L. Saturday, November 19 | MALIBU, CA—We had a great day in Malibu! Hosted by our friend Jobi Manson, owner of Sefari Outpost, we teamed up with our friends Erin Karr of EMK Ceramics, Rob Jungmann of Jungmaven and Tini Howl of H.O.W.L. (Handle Only With Love) to create a pop-up market. Erin set up her ceramics and Tini's hanging planters, and Rob ran an indigo tie-dye workshop. Also featured were floral arrangements by Isa Isa. It was a beautiful opportunity to relax with friends over some coffee. We kept the drip coffee hot with french press and made Chemex to-order. We were also happy to feature floral arrangements by Isa Isa!
We had a blast at Mercado Sagrado 2016! Over the weekend of November 5 and 6, we provided coffee at Mercado Sagrado in the mountains above Malibu, CA. We pulled it off with the help of June Haupt—owner of the Welcome Coffee Cart. Between our three-person team—Ally, Casey, and June—we worked the mobile espresso cart and french press (for drip coffee) non-stop, all weekend. In addition to espresso and drip, we had our first bean, Chochajau - Medium Roast, a Guatemalan coffee, available as cold brew. We also collaborated with a few friends—Moon Juice and ZenBunni—to make some specialty drinks. With Moon Juice, we were making Moon Dust lattes; specifically, Brain Dust and Sex Dust lattes. These were a huge hit. We probably sold...
About a week after we selling our first bag of Canyon, we were asked to set up a mobile coffee shop at one of our favorite outdoor markets of the year—Mercado Sagrado. As the organizers were expected upwards of 3,000 people over the weekend, we knew we were going to need more than a french press and V-60 to meet demand! So we teamed up with June Haupt, a barista and owner of the Welcome Coffee Cart of Santa Barbara, CA. We drove up to Santa Barbara before the event to hang out with June, pull some espresso, and work on the recipe for Moon Dust Lattes—our collaboration with Moon Juice.
On Sunday, October 17th, we took part in Haus of Sage's "Heartspace" in Topanga Canyon. It was a beautiful evening under the Super Full Moon featuring meditations, tea ceremonies, sound healings, and musical performances. It also wasn't lost on us that the night of the event, which opened with a prayer for water ceremony by Mama Medicine, we were gifted with one of the first rainstorms Los Angeles has had in months! We were happy to be part of the Night Market alongside friends EMK Ceramics, Desert Medicine, Ritual Gold, Tini Howl, ZenBunni Chocolate and Frances Loom! We feel so fortunate and grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community of talented conscious entrepreneurs.
