These hand-built and painted mugs were designed in partnership with Oakland-based ceramicist Chinzalée Sonami, founder of Pala Ceramics. Playful and unique, they have a hand-painted blue stripe and cherry red/orange glazed interior. We love the smooth rounded handle and low shape. Each piece is truly one of a kind!

More about Pala Ceramics:

We fell in love with the playful aesthetic of Pala Ceramics. More specifically, founder Chinzalée Sonami's focus on unusual color combinations and collage-like patterns that may otherwise clash, but somehow just work.

Pala continues a family dialogue with ceramics that started with Chinzalée's father and uncle.  The word PALA means FATHER in Tibetan and her work is dedicated to him.

Each Pala piece is thrown, built, and glazed by hand, making every one unique. Though there are multiples of each, they will inevitably be slightly different each time.
