The Aeropress was invented by the guy also famous for inventing the Aerobie frisbee. And while its plastic body doesn't carry timelessness of, say, enamel kettles or moka pots, the aeropress is capable of making seriously good coffee, with precision, in a short amount of time.
There are infinite variations of recipes one can play with when using an aeropress—just check out all the recipes from past world aeropress championships (yes, it's a thing! Casey even competed in the US Aeropress Champsionship in 2018!).
The key takeaway is that there's no one "right" way to make an aeropress. You can play with so many variables... your grind setting, how much coffee you put in, how much water you add, how long to bloom (or not to bloom), whether you make it "upright" or "inverted" style, how hot your water is, how long you steep, how long you plunge...
The combinations are endless.
