Over the weekend of November 5 and 6, we provided coffee at Mercado Sagrado in the mountains above Malibu, CA. We pulled it off with the help of June Haupt—owner of the Welcome Coffee Cart. Between our three-person team—Ally, Casey, and June—we worked the mobile espresso cart and french press (for drip coffee) non-stop, all weekend.
In addition to espresso and drip, we had our first bean, Chochajau - Medium Roast, a Guatemalan coffee, available as cold brew. We also collaborated with a few friends—Moon Juice and ZenBunni—to make some specialty drinks.
With Moon Juice, we were making Moon Dust lattes; specifically, Brain Dust and Sex Dust lattes. These were a huge hit. We probably sold more Sex Dust Lattes than anything else!
With ZenBunni, we used their delicious biodynamic Canyon Coco (Yes! Canyon!) and Kathmandu Chai Coco mixes to make mocha's and chai mocha's. Learn more about biodynamic farming here.
This was our first collaboration with June, and we had so much fun. Can't wait to do more events like this one!
