General Store, founded in 2009 by partners Serena Mitnik-Miller and Mason St. Peter, has long been a source of inspiration for us. When we began forming the concept for Canyon Coffee, their shops in San Francisco and Venice were a great influence—we wanted whatever we created to be able to fit into the world they had created.
So we were very happy when both shops agreed to be a home for our coffee shortly after we launched last fall (2016). In addition to having our coffee available in their beautiful shops, we were excited to come in and pop-up, making coffee for their guests.
On February 12, 2017, we popped up at the San Francisco shop. We drove up to the Bay Area the night before after making coffee for the Love Your Mother event at the Ojai Rancho Inn (put on by Sister Valley). We had just launched our second bean, an Organic Colombian called Tatama, and its pink label was introduced at the perfect time for Valentine's Day.
On Saturday, May 20, 2017, we popped up at our local General Store here in Venice, making pour-over's of our organic Guatemalan, Colombian and Decaf beans, and serving fresh pastries by Amara Kitchen.
